I've been playing for 5 months now and I am in the process of learning Higher Ground by the RHCP. I pretty much have most of the parts down and I can play them at about 110 bpm (the actual song goes about 138 bpm).

I am having a problem with this riff though:

    |---------------------|-----------------|
    |-----4-------6-----7-|-----7---7-5-----|
    |---------------------|-------------7-5-|
    |-2-2---2-4-4---5-5---|-5-5---5---------|

My hand wants to slide between each measure - so my hand ends up sliding between 2, 4 and 5 positions. Is this the way it's supposed to be? When I don't slide, I can't get my hand to fall in the right positions especially when I increase the speed.

    Any suggestions?

  2. after u leave the second fret position, ur meant to got 5 not to four, then to 7
the tabs wrong. listen to the stevie wonder version, it will help u figure it out.
