So here's my "problem". I pulled this pickup out of a friends bass awhile back and I'm not 100% sure what the model is. It's marked APB-2 which says it's the active lightning rod. The pickup only has 2 leads and no lead for the battery. At the 200 ohm setting it reads 21.9 ohms and that's quite hot which leads me to believe it might be a spb-2 hot p bass pickup. So what do I have? 869C11A5-DA03-47EB-B75F-A9EA192D84EB_zpsidxpajzd.

I deleted the pic on accident when I was editing. I forgot the reading when I was typing the original post. Doing it all from my phone. D71064EA-DAF7-49DB-9093-3E5564BF297E_zpsjycgq1tf.

Anyone have a direct email to duncan so I can send them pics? That silly email thing on their site won't help me any.

there you go; 22kΩ, it'a duncan "hot".

(and yeesh, that's a lot! i remember these as just sounding kind of dull, like most of the duncan "hot" f-style pickup variations; they wind so much wire on there the clarity goes away.

i'd be curious to try this pickup in parallel,, for 5.5k instead of 22k, it might actually sound better.)

Well all my p basses are bright-ish (all maple '74 fender p, parts p with dimarzio model p, and parts P with Neo punch) looking for a more round sound with ok clarity. Going to try it soon to see if it sounds like what I'm looking for.

I'm thinking the APB-2 on the sticker might simply be a typo.
