    Hello TBers,
If anyone could help me, It would be greatly appreciated.

I am trying to use a SansAmp BDDI and a Power Amp to run through my Ampeg 8x10 cab.

I got it hooked up, and everything just sounds distorted, it sounds like dookie.

I tried two different power amps, same problem. Am I doing something wrong? ...... I just bang on basses, Im not a real technical person when it comes to hooking stuff up.

Again, any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Depends on which SABDDI you have,
newer version with 3 switchs on the front
should work ok, the older version with one
switch is not configurated to work with a poweramp,
if you have the newer one make sure the switchs are
    set to line..

I have a newer one, and the switches are set to LINE

I tried two different Power Amps, and both sound horrible. The sound is distorted and just doesnt sound good at all.

I have my bass plugged into my BDDI, output going to the input on the power amp, and then, from the power amp is a speaker cable, Banana from the power amp, to 1/4 into the Ampeg 8X10 - Also, on the back of my ampeg 8x10, there are 3 different plug ins, i tried plugging into all 3, same result, sounds horrible.

The power amps i am using are old Crown power amps, I thought it the problem was the power amp, so i tried another one, and it does the same thing

    Im stumped.

Try reducing the Drive control and compensate the gain drop by boosting the Level control.

If the output level of your bass is hot, you might get distortion even with the Drive control at minimum. I had this problem with a Warwick Corvette Std 5, which had EMG pickups and an Aguilar OBP-3. Then the only option is to back off the volume control on your bass.

I use an active bass, Musicman Stingray 3 band eq

I'll try turning down the drive, and boosting the level.

    Thanks for the advice guys.
