We are playing our local Mardi gras in a couple months. Everyone dresses up. Any group ideas for costumes? We have 4 males and a female.

  2. Is she the lead singer? Is she "you know what"? Rules is no pic no ....

Where you hired by a particular krewe? If so, find out what their theme is and dress to match. Otherwise just have fun with it. Historical figures are always big on the favorites list.
  4. If you can't come up with a theme - just dress nice.

WE have 2 months to come up with costumes... just looking for cool ideas. Last year we were 30's style gangsters. This year we want to stand out a little

My band wears Hawaiian shirts sometimes.

If not, I have a Green Bay Brett Favre jersey and a chedderhead.

    I'm thinking.... Vampires.....
  11. She dresses as a nun (with a whip and fishnets) and the rest of you like parochial schoolboys that need disciplining..

Or reverse drag-the guys as women and she as a man.

If you have the money, old style French courtesan finery - brocade jackets and beaded masks, with white tights, (hoop skirt for her like Marie Antoinette) ala old style Mardi Gras.

The Krewe should have a theme and it would be great to find what the theme is, and dress accordingly.

Whatever you choose, take the word of someone who lived in New Orleans and played some balls in costume, pick something that is comfortable and you can perform in it.

For Mardi Gras I would think...
What would the Neville Brothers do?
Check out their video's on You Tube.
Those guys are the epitome of New Orleans cool.
You might also want to learn Congo Square, Yellow Moon, and Voodoo for the gig.

Personally, the gangster theme is going to be tough to top.

    Village People?

The gangster theme was pretty run of the mill IMO

We weren't even the only group doing it
