I'm going to buy a new bass guitar, and I am thinking about Yamaha rbx 374, it's some new model I think, or Jackson C 20. The Yamaha has active electronics, unlike the Jackson, and the Yamaha has humcanceled pickups, and the Jackson has p/j style pickpus. I don't know much about the pickups, can someone tell me whick kind is better and whick bass is better.

al i can tell you is that i never cared for jackson basses at all - i think they were/are a "me too" bass line from the jackson guitar company so bassists in metal and hair bands could have a bass that looked like the guitars the guitarists were using.

Yamaha has some good basses out there but i couldnt tell you specifics.

i am always suspicious of a low cost bass with active electronics - the $ could have been put to better use in construction

neither kind of pickup is better, theyre just different
