Need info - Ashdown Electric Blue

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by Jure the second, Jul 10, 2003.

  1. My local shop started receiving a load of ashdowns. I have a peavey Basic combo (50 W in 12'') for about 10 years and I was thinking about having it replaced for the Electric Blue 12.

Is it capable of dealing with a loud drummer?
How does the DI output behave?
    Is the EQ usefull?

    Thank you

    Jure

Since it's your local shop, how about going down there at a quiet time with your existing amp and comparing the two.

When I upgraded from an SWR Workingman's 12" combo to my present Ashdown rig, I took the combo up to the Bass Centre in London and tried various options, including adding an extension speaker to it. That way, I knew that it took me towards the tone and volume I wanted without being much less portable.

There's nothing like doing an AB comparison with your own gear and your own ears.

    Do post the results though...

Go for the EB15, Its louder than the 12.
The D.I. is excellent as is the eq, plus you get the "Sub Harmonizer" (Octave down) feature and deep/bright switching.
    Also extension out socket.
I've had mine for about a year, it's excellent,no complaints.
