I need to try a new brand of strings. The Blue Steels that used to sound so good on my Jazz bass just don't do it on my 5 string Carvin. Here is what I need. I perfer a medium gauge, tapered at the bridge, 34" scale. As far as sound goes, I like really mild, smooth highs. I stay away from the clanky, harsh stuff. Warm and smooth it the best way I can describe what I like in a string. Any suggestions?
The stock Carvin strings that came with my LB70 where way to twangy. If you want tapered you can try DR Longnecks. I;ve never played with them, but if they are like other DR strings they are probably great. -KB
I have an LB76 and the Carivn strings sound the best out so far. "That's because you were drunk" Marge Simpson
