I would really appreciate some honest opinions about my playing ability. Please listen to this sample I put together - even a simple "not bad" or "needs work" would be helpful.

There's 3 parts: the first and last lines are a couple of old favorites, while the middle is an impromptu piece w/ me and a drum machine.

It's just a 1 and a half minute recording using a Jazz bass and a bit of chorus on an old 4 track.
Also, keep in mind that I don't read music at all.

    Thanks!

  2. I like it, the second half of the middle bit is good and I think it's pretty good playing. But what do I know, I've only been playing since August. :)

I liked both of them.Nothing wrong with 'em.I really liked that harmonics part, you should do that more.In the second part the chorus made it sound really good. The third part was a nice little groove.Keep it up,you rock.

  4. Good, except you might want to work on a few things...
In the first part you kind of got of rhyhtm and it sounds like you're digging in a little too much in some parts. Some of the notes you played also didn't ring out all the way, but good stuff!
