Ok...I've decided to start building a J-Bass Warmoth project...but I just can't decide on a pickguard color that I like. The black one in the picture is ok...but I think the bass would get more snazzy with a better color (pearloid? Abolone?...)

Can anyone with some photoshop skillz help me out with a few choices?

Any help would be appreciated! thanks!!! :D

Here are three options. I did an tort guard on it, but to me it looked hideous, so I left it out. :D

I love the black, but for the hell of it, here's a flame maple pg.

  7. How about no pickguard? That wood is so nice it seems a shame to cover it up.

I'm partial to the pearloid (middle one) that monetbass made.

  9. The black looks good, but maybe completely black would be better? that BWB thing makes it seem out of place.

Personally, I'd go for all black pickguard or no pickguard at all. Love the way J-basses look without pickguards. And especially with that finish.

Hmm.. pickguard-less is probably the best way to go, wouldn't want to waste an inch of that finish if it was mine ;)
Unless you could change the controls all black, looks awesome like that... MS paint is a wonderful thing :)

Thanks for all the help! It's a rosewood fretboard. and the top is front routed and I am using an Audere pre for it...still trying to decide on pickups (see my thread in the pickups page!)

I'm really liking the black pearloid! Combine it with black hardware...oh yeah!

Nice job, masher! Yeah, with that top, it looks better without the PG. Or a clear one.

Clear pickguard if you must have one.
