Need reliable advice

I am looking for an Upright Bass, a reliable and good sounding carved bass for at the most 2500. I know that's not leaving me much room but I'm a poor college kid with barely any money to spend 2500 on a bass. But seeing as I'm majoring in music and I play jazz bass, I need some advice. If you have any ideas please let me know. Anything will help me.
