I'm considering a new 4 string to keep my 6 string modulus and half deceint south of the border jazz bass company. what i'm thinking of doing is go all out and go for either a Thompson or a Huff. If not, probably then build a fretless warmoth and fix up my jazz with bart pickups. and now the major problem, i'm left handed which makes things oh the more delightful and drastically limits my options. right now i'm trying to decide what would be best for me, i play funk, blues, claypoolish, jam's. so i'm looking for something like my mod, but with more punch and style that i think a CT or Huff can produce. just wonding on your opinions
Since you're looking at Thompson and Huff basses, have you considered Mark Eshenbaugh? Mark makes amazing basses inspired by Carl's designs and building methods, but puts his own spin on things. I'd check Mark's work out too while you're trying to decide which builer would be right for you. Good luck! You couldn't go wrong with either of the three.
