Need to do a rough demo for school.

Discussion in 'Recording Gear and Equipment [BG]' started by Microbass, Jan 23, 2005.

  1. OK, so my school doesn't have it's own studio, and simply, we won't have enough time to get anything set up to do a proper recording session.

So i had the thought of doing it via minidisk player into a sound desk.
    Equipment as follows:
8 channel (or maybe more, cant remember) mid priced sound desk
more than enough crap vocal microphones
    Amps, Drums, 1-2 vocals.

i planned to do it as one track - have the band play the song.
however, we could probably do it track by track... :)

we've done a MD recording from a rehersal before, and it worked out OK, apart from the bass just hardly being picked up, and our tone having no justification.

    does this idea seem feasable?
Im still not sure if we'll HAVE to do it, but if we do, it's gunna have to be by the end of next week!

Any advice, tips on how to do this recording?
