    Greetings -

Recently bought a Peavey Cirrus 5 for playing in a worship band and also bought a Fender Bassman 25…church owns an older SWR 1x15 combo amp.

I haven’t been happy with the Fender amp and am returning it.

I have up to $700 to spend on amplification and plan on buying used gear…I’m looking for something that isn’t a total hassle to transport, but I do have a van, so I can handle size if its worth it.

Is there a big advantage to buying a head/cab pair rather than a combo in the same price range?

I’d appreciate hearing your thoughts on what might be available in my price range that would be well-suited for my bass (and the low B string, which I will use all the time) and music style.

One advantage that the 'head/cab' has over an equivalent combo is that it is easier to carry around.
