New American Deluxe Fender - Choose me a pickguard!!

    Heyy

    I got this bass last week, its a 2008 American deluxe Jazz. I have to say that this bass is killer! The sound, the playability, balance and feel, it has a classic fender tone but with more balls and grunt!

    Anyway, my only pet peeve about this instrument is the damn gold "bling bling" pickguard! I was thinking a tort or pearloid guard! What do u think will suit this bass???

    Sorry Mat, but I'd leave it just like it is. I think the gold looks great with the black, and blends nicely with the maple. It'll look real good on stage...

    That doesn't look like bling bling. I vote as it is or black on black.

    The gold looks great, especially with that mape board. I'd leave it. Very vintage and sharp looking.

    I'm torn guys! I'm thinking black on black. But the more i read the posts saying the standard guard is ok, the more i think "actually it does look okay!" :meh:

    I was really GASsing for an american deluxe jazz v a while back and was looking around the net for pics when I stumbled upon this sexy thing:

    I soon found out that the owner is also a TB'er (alotabass). I'm now gassing for a different bass but if ever I get a black/maple combo, it's going to have a tort pickguard. So yes, my vote would be tort.

    that bass looks awesome with the tort guard and the chrome knobs!!

    Thats a major inspiration there!!
