New American Std Jaguar Bass vs American Std P Bass

Love the current stock AmStd P Bass with the custom shop pups, there's something about it. I also have the CIJ Jag bass which I really like as well, but not as much...it's tonally versatile in the studio environment but the P sound has that bark I have really grown to like. SO, I wanted to know:

Anyone have any experience with how the AmJag's P pup measures up to "that" P bass sound?" I like the versatility of the Jag as well as the Jazz neck and I'm counting on a P pup in that body will still cop that sound...but I have yet to see one in a store.
