New Amp Day - Phil Jones Superflightcase

Well I decided to pull the trigger on this and it arrived yesterday from Alto Music.
Day 1 I really like it , clear acoustic , airy tone, transparent.
30 day return policy.
We'll see.....

 

So far I don't regret selling my Walter Woods and fearless f112.......
I agree with Vince , it has a special place in my arsenal for my upright bass.

 

Yikes , what a disappointment tonight!
I took the amp out to play Bakers Keyboard Lounge in Detroit and the amp sounded great for one song then the rest was awful.
The amp started cutting in and out with little or no volume.
The power lights were flickering and the sound reduced to almost nothing.
I wound up playing through the house Hartke rig with 4 x10" aluminum speakers.

 

I called the Phil Jones repair department and they have yet to return my call.
With a 30 day return policy and $1,200 on the line I have decided to ship the amp back.
This is the downside to shopping online with no local customer service.
Now I have to pay $51.00 to ship the amp back because I can't get service.
The sales department at Alto Music has been a joy to work with and Mike Albronda has been on pointe but the thought of getting "stuck" with a defective product is unsettling.
Best amp I every played for one song,lol!
Time to try the 1,000 watt QSC K8 and my Headway.

 

I have a brand new Tuki Cover that I purchased 4/16/17 for the amp that I'll probably be moving as well.

 

Thanks, I got a call back today and it seems like it is a defective unit or severe operator error.
At any rate it is headed back to Alto Music.
If they can figure it out I may consider it in the future.

 

I A/B the TEC electronic bg250 208 to the QSC K8 and Headway preamp.
QSC was superior in tone , volume and dispersion.
