I recently had some gear stolen and been struggling with my GK MB115 to keep up with gigs and band rehearsals. Bumped into a fellow TBer (Thehound) and we finally found a day that we were in the same neck of the woods and swapped amps. Just love Yorkville/Traynor stuff and missed it so much. Here it is the Yorkville XS400C What a beast of an amp! So much you can do with the sound of this combo, still learning the knobs and such as ive been use to simple EQ. Im so happy with this trade, this Yorkville blows the doors off the GK in every way except weight. Thank you Thehound for helping a fellow Canadian out.
Not feeling the love. Is it because its not a $1,000 rig or an ampeg lol ? Usually hate suggested presets in manuals but the classic rock suggestion is right on in this case. The more i play this amp the more im loving it.
Congrats - I too have been rediscovering Traynor lately. As Canadians I think we overlook it as its always around. But great tone and quality build right here on Canada has me on the bandwagon
Nice, was it a straight swap? how many watts and what speaker size? Th EQ looks like you can dial in any sound you would need
Yes straight up trade. 15in at 400w or 250w without ext speaker. But holy cow as is only running 50w more than the GK it is so much fuller and louder in a mix.
Played last night at rehearsal. Just loving this amp, it didnt even break a sweat last night. The GK was volume at 3oclock and gain at 12oclock and it sounded like it would explode at any minute. Yorkville volume at 10oclock and gain at 12oclock and i was punchy and in the mix perfectly. Only 2 downfalls of this amp is the tube drive seems pretty useless and it weighs 80lbs. I was the happiest ive been in months at rehearsal, couldnt keep the smile off my face. Its so good to play gear that dosent depress you. Even the bandmates were loving it. I still miss my Traynor DNB112 w/ 112ext but this will do me good and then some till tax time.
