So I just got this new amp. The input and controls are on the front like I'd expect, but the speakers are in the back. Not only that, but even when I turn the volume up all the way, it makes no sound

  3. Try plugging into the other jack. The one you're plugged into looks like the tuner send ;)

You shouldn't have that volume much past noon you know. I see you've got that amp pegged.
That's not what they meant by Ampeg....
Give it time. Maybe the speaker just needs to break in.

    It's the raised position.
Without ground coupling, you won't hear much.

  6. I bet it's a bad cord and not the amp at all.........

Your supposed to set it so the side you show faces up AND you have to hold your mouth right :D

Well no wonder it doesn't work, your missing the power cord...

You need the plug one of these into the other jack:

You are maxing out that tweeter. It could be sucking too much power from the speaker to produce as many highs as you want, and the whole rig is suffering. Other than that, I dunno.

I'm surprised Ampeg QC passed it with the driver installed in the wrong side of the cab. :p

That model is for fretted instruments. Try a different bass.

It keeps getting worse - these bass amps are now designed so the speakers face the crowd, but the bass player needs to be behind the amp (recommended in manual to be behind curtain if at all possible).

Just another ploy by the guitarist-ego-industrial-complex to keep us bassists heard and not seen, and make sure all spotlights & attention is on them....

And now they don’t even want us heard!! I guarantee you - bring that amp to a gig & you’ll still be told to turn down!

The milk crates are supposed to go _on top_ of the cab. That's the problem.

Yes I believe you're mostly right, probably all the power is lost in the ultrasonic range of the tweeter.

It’s broken and probably not worth fixing.
I’ll pick it up and take it to the dump for you.

The bass might also be bad.
I’ll check it out and let you know if you should put any money into it.

It might work like that, but you have to plug it in.
