I'm looking for something cheap and cheerful to strap on to the back of my old 1x10 Promethean modular combo amp thingy. I'm giving up on the Ibanez P5110 amp. It doesn't always start up. The 1x10 cab it screws onto is nice. Not much low extension but good tone and behaves well when pushed hard. Handles 250W continuous pretty handily, 8 ohms. So... obviously one of the new D-class amps could just be stuck on there--I'm planning to aggressively void warranty: remove the feet, permanently attach it. But most of the online specs for the amps list the dimensions of the shipping box or the entire package with feet. Useless! Anybody have suggestions for something that will actually fit within: 11in wide (excactly) 2.5in high (can be a little higher no worries) depth negotiable something like 200+ watts Not super expensive I figure if there's anything that will work, this community will know what it is.
A quick look around says there’s a few choices. Most will be narrower than the Ibanez but will fit. The cheapest might be a used Traynor SB200 or GK MB200. My Aguilar TH500 would have fit nicely. It’s replacement the 700 won’t but considering my P5110 still works I don’t need to go down this path quite yet. Looking forward to your solution and like you, I find the box really well made and sounded great with the Aguilar so keep us posted.
I really wish Ibanez had stuck with this amp and continued to develop it. One of the best bits of gear I ever owned... until the amp gave up the ghost. There's a real need for something like this in the market.
