Hi Mauro- love the app. I have two questions:

1-Is there a way to save, copy and paste tracks from Drumgenius into a DAW like Auria or Reason?
2-Will you be incorporating Audiocopy and/ or IAA (inter app audio) in future versions?

    Thanks so much.

  2. It's not possible to use Drumgenius loops into a DAW, unless you record them and cut. In the upcoming upgrade it will be compatible with inter app audio. Thanks! Ciaoooo

Great info and app. Just downloaded it... Thanks OP!
Love the guanguanco and various Latin rhythyms.

  5. Mario, just emailed you; unable to download any drum loops. I tried it on my WIFI connection at home on my tablet, and then on my phone using tmobile, but got the unable to download....network connection lost. Anyone else run into this problem?

His name is actually Mauro. :) I just tried to download one and got a "server unreachable" notice. Hopefully it's just a temporary glitch. Will try to keep posted, since I use this app a lot. It was working a couple of days ago when I used it in a lesson.

    Great app Mauro!

It would be really nice with some Bulgarian grooves.

Thanks Mauro for this app. I've been using it since I first heard about it on TB last year sometime. Fantastic.

One more vote here to add to Chris F's comment to expand search by Tempo / BPM feature.

    a) I can currently search for "120" but it'd be nice to have some margin of error / fuzzy logic there... so loops slightly faster & slower also appear. (e.g. If I search for "120" 118 and 124 loops also return as results)

    b) Ideal situation would be tap tempo. I tap tempo, and loops appear that match tempo. That would be SO BUENO but I know that's a whole order of magnitude above current functionality. App is awesome as it is, and thanks for the work.

I just downloaded all the loops in my new phone! I've had the app for about a year but wasn't using it much, now I'm quite enjoying practicing using drumgenius! Last update with all the new loops was a great addition.

Never mind. I already found out. It's 8.99$ for the whole package.

    Two questions:
    1) Is this app still in development and are new loops still being added from time to time?
    2) Can I import the loops as an audio file (or midi) in my DAW?

Not sure about the first question. I've not found a way to do the second except as pure audio, which is usually fine for my purposes.

ok thanks. Maybe the maker can give me some answers. I think he is around here too.... At least he was in 2015! :)
Anyway, I think I am going to buy the whole package.

It's a fantastic app. Regarding the second question, you should be able to run the app on a PC / Mac and then route the audio 'internally' into Audacity and then save it.

What do you mean exactly? Can you explain step by step?

  17. I think it is normal to have some curiosity about such possibilities. I'd be very surprised to meet a bass player who would benefit more from monkeying around with the tech behind this app then just using it as intended.

Not sure what you are trying to say here Damon?

I installed it on my iPhone but I can't find the app in the AppStore on my iPad with the search function. So I can't install the app on my iPad. Any idea how this is possible?

I did something similar a few years back with another app.

What your want to do is to capture the audio output from Drumgenius and save it as an audio file instead of playing it out through the phone's speaker.

To do this, you need a way of running the app on a computer. I used BlueStacks, which is an Android emulator.

Once you have the app running on your computer, the next thing you need is some way of routing audio output from one app to another. I used a thing called Soundflower on my Mac which does this. Instead of choosing speakers/headphones or whatever in your audio preferences, you instead choose Soundflower (it's a virtual audio interface).

Finally, you need an app to record the audio. Audacity is a good free choice here. You set it up to record from Soundflower (or whatever equivalent you're using) and then press record while Drumgenius use playing.

That should give you a purely digital signal path and you can save that loop off on disk.

It's not easy, and quite time consuming, but that's how I'd do it.

    Hope that helps!

There are a couple of ways:
    • Open the App Store app on your iPad, go to “Purchased”, tap the “Not on my iPad” tab, and search for the app. This assumes that you’re using the same Apple ID as you used when you installed Drumgenius onto your iPhone.
    • See if this link works: ‎Drumgenius. If you’re using the same Apple ID as when you installed it onto your iPhone, you should see the download cloud. Tap that to download it to your iPad.
After you install it onto your iPad, tap “Restore Purchases” to add any loops you’ve purchased for the app.
