Here's the SKB-3005 w/ 19 mm spacing that Ryan L. has been waiting on!

It's absolutely gorgeous, and the tone is thunderous, dare I say devastating. You could pound pilings with this bass's tone. VERY heavy, very cool.

    2827.
    2827-BACK.
    2827-BODY.

That's what I like to hear!! You and Jerry, always soilin' yer diapers...

Let me know if you have any specific questions about the bass, Ryan. I'm happy to weigh it, play it to you over the phone, whatever. Or if you just want to take the plunge, you can rest easy knowing that you have 7 days to return it for a full refund if you receive it and don't care for it. But that ain't gonna happen :)

  5. ...a little? ;)

If you open up your wallet and put that bass on your wall, Greg and I promise to forget about your transgression...

    :ninja:

  6. GGGgggguuuuyyyyyyuuuuuuuhhhhhhhh. Damnit. Wardrobe!

Holy just freak wow. Oh my. What an absolutely gorgeous instrument, and I can only imagine how it sounds. Greg, will you play it over the phone for me....just for an hour or so? :D

Love the woods, and I'm smiling just imagining the sound. Hooglie mooglie.

+1 to the upside down part.

Unfortunately for me, it's not a sixer. Which would have made me not want it, at all. Going through 4 of the best basses I've ever owned, and selling all of them, because they were, in fact, 6ers, has made me realize that I am a 5 string guy.:smug:

But also unfortunately for me, I have to make sure everything's gonna be OK with the flooding here before I dare to ANYTHING. It's getting uglier and uglier up here---we're supposed to be safe from danger in my neighborhood for now, but if the dikes fail, we're screwed.:meh:

Wow wee, that is a beauty!

I have the Wenge Center on my Roscoe neck, and I LOVE it.

What wood is the lam between the top and body? Classy touch.

It actually not a body lam, it's a "scraped binding". They either masked off that part of the ash when the did the back color, or they scraped back to bare wood after the color was applied. You can see the ash grain continue straight across both layers - pretty cool.

Oh - by the way - best of luck up there, Ryan. Stay dry!!!

  14. Yup, the line you're referring to is indeed just taped off ash! We use that technique quite often on the colored backs.

And Ryan, +1000 to Greg's comments - stay dry brother.

...I do not miss living in a flood plain (Slidell, LA) one bit...

    :meh:

    Thanks!!!

It's not looking good. They've evacuated a few areas in town now, one hospital has been evacuated, a few large nursing homes have been evacuated, and now they've upped the predicted crest of the Red River.......................:(So far, we're still safe, but if the main dikes and contingency dikes happen to let go, ugh.

Needless to say, we are getting things moved off the floor today, and putting some of our more "valuable" belongings into our Expedition. Just in case.

    I take breaks sometimes.:p

Anyway, I'll quit cluttering up your thread now.:) We're now as ready as we can be, so now it's just a matter of waiting it out and seeing what happens.
