I have one of the new front ported avatar 1x12 cabs and I am looking to trade it for one the older rear ported 1x12 cabs. The front ported cab sounds great and offers a bit more punch and low end then the rear ported (I have one of these also)my only reason for wanting the rear ported cab is simply because it is a little more compact.

This cab is only a few months old and only gets used as an extension cab on bigger shows so it is in great condition.

Only as an extension cabinet on bigger shows. Maybe 6 or 7 times. And only with upright bass. So it has not been used at an super loud rock & roll volume levels.

It sounds great I just want somethig a bit smaller. When you haul an upright around all the time you start to really look at the smaller cabinet options.

Here it is. I have put wheels on it, that's the only modification. The picture of the back makes it look lobsided but it's not, it's just my lobsided photography skills.

If your mom wants some kind of reference you can have her check my ebay track record. My ebay user ID is k*o
My girlfriend and I have been doing business on ebay for a couple years now and have almost 800 positive feedbacks. So that should account for something. I also take credit card payment through paypal, this makes folks feel a little more secure than just sending cash sometimes.

When I was a kid I knew many a player who was just starting out, who had their equipment budgets financed by "HeyDad or HeyMom Productions"

    Nothing wrong with that.
Whatever it takes to get you going.

    Good Luck

kevin - thanks for the emails but i just bought the same cab direct from avatar - how did you like it for the upright? that's what i'll beusing it for, along with hopefully my mesa 400+ if i can get some cleanliness from it.

It works well for upright. I think you'll be happy with it. Should be fine with the mesa if you tweak you eq settings and get it dialed in. You'll have a good amount of headroom and shouldn't have a problem getting a clean tone out of it.
