Here's my new Ibanez Grooveline G106. I've been waiting on this one for a few weeks. All the way from Japan, but here she is. Some people may not go for the looks, but this thing absolutely has boutique level sound and build quality. It's not your typical beaten up Soundgear on the wall at GC, the Japanese Grooveline basses are something really special. The active tone is unique and very sweet, and the passive tone could easily fill in for an school jazz bass. This thing is a real player!

The guys at Sweetwater went out of their way to take all the regular gallery pics and email them to me. That's a nice touch on a bass that was special ordered and never went up for sale online. The last pic is the bass in her new home.

Thats a beautiful bass but I'm more impressed with the amps you have behind it. Wow...wish I had that kind of rig.

Thanks, all! It looks like this one is definitely going to be a keeper.

They are made in Japan with the Prestige Series instruments. It came with a Prestige labeled tool kit and a hard case, but I guess the Grooveline is technically a separate series. These actually come in at a slightly higher price point than most of the Prestige basses, but I got a heck of a deal on this one. :D

Yes, very unfortunately. As far as I can tell, the 6-string Grooveline was only made for about a year. Maybe less. Perhaps someone has more accurate information on that. I'm told this was pretty close to the last one Ibanez had on hand in Japan.

Thanks! Shameless plug: The Eden rig is available. There's a WT800A head and Korg DTR-2 tuner in the rack case, sitting on a D410XLT and a D115XL. It's all original Nordschow era Eden gear, made in Montrose, MN before the buyout. I purchased it new in 2002.

Hey I just bought a new 5 string Grooveline from a dealer on ebay. I noticed that there are quite a few new, non-B stock Grooveline basses on sale on eBay for WAY less than Retail or usual Street!! Like $750+/-!! I'll post up when mine gets here...
