I am pleased to welcome to the family a 2014 Fender American Deluxe Jazz Bass in natural. It took me a while to realize that I really only need a passive Precision with LaBella DTF flats, and an active Jazz with DR Hi-Beams. These two cover every sound I need to make.

That's a beauty man I love maple necks and Fender has really upped their game on these basses they are absolute monsters congrats.
  5. Nice grain on that body, and really nice inlays! It's a winner!

Thanks to you both. This is easily the best looking Jazz I've ever played. Fortunately for me, it sounds even better. I, too, really love maple fingerboards, to the point that I no longer own any basses without. Rosewood can sound great, but IME it is too picky about the strings used. Maple sounds great with any string.

Another life time keeper on talkbass. Congrats!

Fender is obviously doing everything they can do right now, to get people to buy their instruments.

    I occasionally wet the bed.

Thanks, guys. Fender have been killing it recently, too true. The build quality on this is as good as I've seen on any bass. I usually don't like natural basses, either, but the grain on this was so good that I just couldn't help myself. Besides, it's the feel and sound that matters, and it's got both in spades.

    Definitely a work of art.
Would look great hanging on the wall above the mantle for sure.

It surely might, but I'll never know...
  17. That's a lovely piece of ash you have there. Do these American Deluxe models still have the Nordstrand pickups? I tried a couple of these when they came out in about 2009/10. They're excellent and the best sounding Jazzes out there.

They are "noiseless" N3 pups, I don't know who makes them the do sound pretty sweet, though.
