A few days ago I received a new Joiner P-J Bass via the Big Brown Truck.

Chambered Alder body (nice tight grain, was one piece before chambering)
Flamed Maple Neck (Nitro finished) and Rosewood Fingerboard
Hipshot Hardware: A Bridge and HB1 Tuners (BT1 to be added later)
Brown Tort Pickguard & Control Plate (cut by Joiner from Chandler stock)
Fralin P-J pickups (+10% overwound bridge pickup)
    Sadowsky Preamp with VTC
1-3/4 Nut - slightly asymmetrical neck
    Sadowsky Flats .045-.105
Sunburst Nitro Finish by Ben Lindsey (really tight 3 tone Sunburst, with barely any red :) )
    Mooradian Gig Bag

The specs don't tell the whole story... killer neck, feel, playability, craftsmanship and tone. I just played it at church today for the first time and it was simply amazing!

I like the matching cover on the back! neat idea.. Congrats, Man! Nothing like a P/J!! :)
  4. Love the use of the electrosocket jack plug. I have one of these on my P/J and it's a vast improvement over tradtional jack sockets.

Beautiful bass by the way. Nicely executed. Just my style.

    Here is her fretless sibling...

    Basswood P-shaped Body
Incredible Flamed & Figured Maple Neck
    Rosewood Lined Fretless Fingerboard
Custom Paint by Ben Lindsey (color choice by Ben - matches the red-orange in the fingerboard)
Sadowsky Single Coil Jazz Pickups (passive)
Black Hipshot Hardware (A Bridge - HB1 Tuners)
    Recessed Dunlop Straplocks

TB'er Joinercape - No sound clips yet. Yes it's a custom ordered bass. Wait... not that long. He started on it earlier in the year.

Jeff is a woodworking craftsman by trade (high-end cabinets and millwork) who has also made more than 30 classical guitars. He has made 5 solid body basses (so far). This project started last summer when he visited us.

Actually the P pickup is in the traditional position, but the bridge pickup is slightly towards it. With the 10% overwound bridge pup the sound is fat & warm, but with the Sad pre you can dial in some grit :bassist:

Love the basses...very nice! If there is anything at all for me to nit pick, and it's personal...but I'm not a fan of the logo design. What's the weight of the PJ?
