    The F-Bird has landed....

Built by Talkbass member Budman :bassist:

Poplar body, modified Thunderbird shape, 69 Charger orange with a
black faux pickguard that is painted on. All the other hardware is
    black.

Moses graphite 5 string P bass neck 34" scale

MM style Alnico pickup, contour bridge and sealed tuners from
    CustomShopParts.

1 volume control, and a 3 position switch that splits the pickup from
full on to front coil only or back coil only. I never use the tone
controls on my passive basses so I opted not to have one on this bass.

Strung with Ernie Ball regular Slinkys 45-130

Very nice bass Justice! I have been following it's progress on alt.guitar.bass since it's inception.

I hope to own one of Bud's basses in a few months myself!

    :D

BTW, what's the story on that black, headless, mini-V you're playing in the live photos?

Thats my early 80's Steinberger XP2, my first carbon fiber neck bass.

It is a bit, but we expected that. I have a nice wide leather strap with a rough back that deters sliding and when I have it in playing position, my right forearm helps keep it in place.

Cool! :D I'm glad you're digging it. The project introduced a few new challenges and was fun to build. How's it sound through your rig?

  13. I've wanted to do an altered T-bird for awhile. I have a Mighty Mite 5-string P-bass neck that I want to attach to a Seafom Green 'bird-shape body- like this one, w/a single MM-style PU. Love it!
