    Hi, TalkBass!

I'm a new bass player in the DFW area; I've been playing for a couple months now and am having a blast. Having said that, I'm looking forward to eventually not sucking so much. :)

I also freely admit to being that guy who bought an expensive instrument but can barely play it. I fell in love with the sound and feel of a Rickenbacker 4003, and hope to grow into it.

Ooouuu ... A great instrument for sure! Enjoy it, and your long musical journey as long as you stick with it. Practice time will slowly take away the suck, even though it may not feel like much progress all the time. You'll be amazed every few months as you go back to play things that once gave you trouble and find that they get easier. Congrats & welcome to TB
