New bass wanted for returning bassist

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by bassampegman, Oct 20, 2005.

  1. Hi i am returning back to playing the bass after selling all my gear, Musicman bass etc.

I need a good low cost band workhorse bass used but good for rock etc.

I am thinking of maybe Spector, Fender, Warwick Rockbass, Yamaha, Ibanez,

Any ideas which one to go for, i want low cost no hassle 4 stringer which will do for a pub / bar band as a hobby so nothing over the top or silly prices

Passive Fender. No hassles. Shop around and you'll get one on the cheap.
  3. Schecter Elite Diamond series.

Neck through, active EMGs real easy playing 300.00+- on ebay
    Great sound, look decent too.

    Or the Fender passive PBass.....................

The Fender is a great idea. You can also get decent used Peavey and Ibanez basses dirt cheap.
  6. Yamaha. My first real bass, a BBN4II, No clue what their current models are now though, but there budget end ones are good, and you can usually find them used cheap. I used mine a lot for rock/metal/prog/theater/death-black metal and jazz and it fit well in all situations.
