i'm looking for a new bass, not a Fender, and i have around 800$ to spend. I was also looking for a five string. I mostly play rock music but I wan't it to have alot of sounds. I know I should just go try some but the music stores around me don't have any basses in that range that aren't Fenders and I also don't know where to start. Thanks for any suggestions. :smug:

G&L L-2500 Tribute Series. Great sound and construction and very versatil. You can get a good tone for rock, metal, funk....

Used Warwick? What kind of Rock do you play? Punk would probably be a Fender P, Hard Rock would be like an Ibanez or Warwick. Classic would be like a J.

Look for a Spector Rebop and haggle it down to $800.

  10. I'd look for a used warwick. Corvette easily in that range, a thumb bolt on if you are lucky in that range, but not out of the question. Both have good "rock" tones. (generically speaking) :)

Yeah, I think it's a better built bass. Please do a search on TB for Lakland Skylines.

I also note that someone's selling a used Skyline JO in the classifieds.

Would it be worth to sell my MIM Fender Delux JAzz for a Spector Legend 5. Or woul dit only really be worth it if i wen't for the Rebop.

  14. You won't get much $$ out of the MIM.

I'd go with the Yamaha TRB 1005, Go to Guitar Center and haggle it down to $600. Thats what I'm doing :hyper: :bassist:

I wouldn't waste my time with the Spector Legend series. Go all out and get the Rebop. That way you won't be kicking yourself in the face three weeks later, wishing you got the Rebop for a little bit more $$

  16. Warwick.

I went to a show last night and the 2 out of the 3 bassists were using them.

One was a Dolphin and the other was a Corvette. Great tone.

G&L! my L-2000 is great, just as good as many basses i have played that are at least twice the cost, and options up the wazoo. good for rock too. I'm sure the fiver is just as good
