First impressions: Holy $#!7! This is the sound I want. Like a chainsaw with balls. Deep P bass booty with that Sterling growl. I got what I wanted without turning an EQ knob. The HH Bongo I had before sounded great and made me want another. The Single H puts the pickup in the Stingray sweet spot with Bongo oomph and Sterling growl. It sounds like my Stingray but more complex and rich, maybe a tiny bit darker, more balls too. What a gorgeous piece and it sounds SO good.

  2. Sweet!

You didn't pay $417, did you?;)

Amended to $#!7! That figure might cover the shipping and taxes. :D:D

  4. Ah, now I see. 1337 talk is not my cup of tea.
Hope it will bring you many hours of joy!

I'd buy a 4/5string Bongo with two humbuckers if I were you. That's at least my dreambass! Not that I really know what difference the 2nd humbucker makes. :p It just looks awesome!

I had the two humbucker model. It sounded great and made me want another Bongo after I sold it for SO pacification. The single hummer sounds perfect with no tweaking. It's a monster. Would I get another dual bucker - maybe. More likely a single H again - I like this even better.

    Bongos are amazing.

That's a beautiful bass. I want an HS bongo fretless 5, preferably with a piezo, but apparently that's a very rare combination, even without, so I'm resigned to waiting until one pops up on here or for sale locally.

  18. That's so gorgeous.
I was never really a Bongo fan before, but now I've seen that baby...

Geezer, that's a sweet collection. If you ever feel like shaking things up, here's what I'd do:

    1. Put a brown tort p/g on the sunburst SR.
    2. Get a p/g for the blue Bongo just like the one currently on the sunburst Ray. Those flecks of blue in that p/g would look real good on that Bongo.

I'm not criticizing the way you have them now. Like I said, very sweet. Just looking at other possibilities if you ever need a change.
