I've got a '79 B301F. Nice tone out of the mahogany and rosewood. Nice score, Johnny.

  3. Cheers! The seller here didn't do his homework, the serial number he quoted is for 1978! The fretted one I have is a '77

  4. I love the shape too, and now I have it in fretted and fretless!

I have only seen one of these before - it was a band slot on 'The Young Ones', and I can't remember the band!!!

  5. I had a think, and I think it was The Damned!:)
  6. there was a clip of Iggy Pop on The Tube playing "sweet sixteen" , and the bass player (I think it was Tony Sales, later of Tin Machine) was bashing a fretless B301 like yours with a pick (and also at one point with his fist:eek: )

also Michael Dempsey, original bassist with the Cure, and later with The Associates, used a fretted B301.

  7. Cool, thanks for the info!! I'd only seen one uip until now!
