New Bassist NEEDS HELP! (Gear)

    What's up everyone,

    I play bass in a metal band. Influences include early Metallica, Pantera, Slayer, Black Sabbath, and Led Zeppelin to name a few. I've played guitar and piano for a number of years, but the bass is definitely where it's at for me with my band and just for all around having fun.

    I've been very frustrated lately because I'm on a hunt for gear and nothing is really doing it for me, bass or amps. I definitely have my preferences so far (I definitely want a five string) , but I'm still not convinced. I really need something that will blow the balls out of your sack, but also make you cream. Please help!

    do you want a four or five string and as far as amps go do what I did, I bought a gk backline 4x10 and a $100 peavey bass head. Its been working just fine for me so far.

    Yeah, I forgot to mention that I'm definitely after a 5 string. I corrected it. Thanks!
