New Bassist NEEDS HELP! (Gear)

What's up everyone,

I play bass in a metal band. Influences include early Metallica, Pantera, Slayer, Black Sabbath, and Led Zeppelin to name a few. I've played guitar and piano for a number of years, but the bass is definitely where it's at for me with my band and for just all around having fun.

I've been very frustrated lately because I'm on a hunt for gear and nothing is really doing it for me, bass or amps. I definitely have my preferences so far (definitely want a 5 string), but I'm still not convinced. I really need something that will blow the balls out of your sack, but also make you cream. Please help!
