I just got the new Spock's Beard album, Feel Euphoria - so far it sounds really´good! Neil is still missed, but they are far from being on life support.
I'm with Progzilla on this one. Spock's has been my favorite band for the last couple of years, but I'm pretty apprehensious about FE. Since Neal constructed all the songs that made them my favorite, I hope I can just appreciate this one on its own merits. It's good to see your positive review though, JMX.
Well, to ressurect an old post, I think 'll throw my .02 into the ring.... I just purchased Feel Euphoria the other day and also being a long-time SB fan I too was a bit skeptic. On that note I have to say that I really enjoy this album. Nick has done IMO a great job in coming out from behind the drum kit and taking on the lead vocals (ala Phil Collins). A couple of standouts for me have been East of Eden, West of Memphis and Ghosts of Autumn. Althouh this album may have a bit more of dare I say a pop sensability to it, it is still Spock's Beard through and through. Neil may have penned the majority of the earlier songs, but this new material definately stands on its own. That being said..... Neil's new solo album (Testimony) will be coming out in September. I've listened to a few tracks from his site and so far really like what I've heard. It will be interesting to hear the whole thing.
