    Hi All

    Arrived yesterday:

Absolutely the finest built instrument I've encountered, build quality is astounding. Tonally it's everything I was hoping for, but a more detailed report pending on all o' that after a weekend in the room at gig volume.

For now: :D , :hyper: and, indeed, :p

That is one of the most attractive basses I have ever seen. However, I have 2 questions. What are the woods and is it a neck through with the top and back covering the neck throughness?

Thanks guys. Spec and some cool construction pics can be found here:

Got this through Brian at LowEnd, was a great guy to deal with. GW, let me know if any of them pics are hi-res enough for you, I'll try take one or two new ones if not.

I just had to come back and cry some more. Plz, High res pics! :)

The finish at the back is exquisite, the top is unreal, so is the fretboard and the general esthetic of it. Close to my dream bass on looks alone! Work of art.

Even his low end stuff is top end.

Cracker! The back is very Sadowsky-esque to me, for some reason.

If I had some expendable dough, I'd have a Benavente as my main bass.

That's great bass ! You must have gone mad figuring out the woods ! The specs in the Lowend forum says it's with slims, but those are the wides, arent' they ?

I just pulled the trigger on a SCD5... still a long way before I see some pics, but I can confirm that dealing with Brian so far was great !

Lovely bass.Well done!!Just curious, did you have to pay import tax if the bass was sent from the States?I know i did and was shocked at the amount!!

Yes, had to pay the usual (23% or so) import charges. Almost all of the stringed kit I've bought over the last 10 years or so has come from the USA though, so it's no surprise. The £ vs the $ currently does offset it some though... but alas the import and VAT are just a fact of life.

The spec? I didn't spec this one myself... it was at LowEnd for sale when I stumbled upon it. I loved the look of it and spent a week or 3 bending Brian's ear about the play and tone... eventually I decided to take the plunge, and so glad I did! :)
