Just picked up this Vortex 4 built in 2003.
-Flame Bubinga top, binding, blocks, headstock and pickup covers. Aero dual-coils, u-retro. Looks like a 7-piece neck. weight is average:9-9.5 lbs.

This was a trade deal, so it isn't officially mine until I recieve confirmation from the other party. But I am going to plug it in and give it the once-over tonight you-betcha.

Nice score!!! I was shocked it sat new for so long... that thing should have sold itself! With the ash core + bubinga + aeros + u-retro, it must sing!

Let me know when it's official and I can add you to the http://www.benaventeguitars.com Family page.

Thanks Guys, Plugged her up to my '61 Ampeg B12 tonight and she just sings. The neck is Jazz width and very thin, absolutely effortless.

Is that a set neck, bolt-on neck, or neck thru with a full top ?

Upon examining the bass, I have concluded that this instrument has a 7 piece neck consisting of flame Bubinga, Paduuk and Maple.
