I picked up a new Bongo 4 today and took it directly to a three-hour jam. Man, what a great bass! :hyper: Rock solid construction, fantastic neck, great controls with so many tonal options - this is for sure my #1 axe! I also love how well it balances when strapped on, it's effortless to hold and manipulate.

I know there are some Bongo detractors out there (the toilet seat crowd) but this is a damn fine bass! :bassist:

The black finish with black pickguard looks cool, bit I'm thinking of ordering either an abalone or a shell p/g, to dress it up a little bit. Any thoughts on how one of those p/gs would look on this baby?

    Congrats on the new axe!

If you are open to other suggestions, I think a black pearl pickguard would look great on that bass.

Well, I'm jealous. :D Awesome bass.

I'd put a black or white pearl pickguard on that. Either would look killer.

Hey, congrats on your bass. I just used one of mine tonight for some rockabilly/country rehearsals and the naysayers can kiss my Bongo, you know?

the mayority of Bongo detractors never been played one,at least for more than 20 minutes, and the bassist than put his desicion 1st based on the look of the instrument is a piece of trash as a musician

congrats on the bass!!! I know your dilemma on the pickguard, i bought the same exact color combo as you. I ended up going with a white pearl p/g for a classic "geddy" look, but I also plan on ordering a red tort one soon
  11. Congrats on your new Bongo! I ordered mine about six weeks ago so with luck it won't take too much longer. I could have snagged a nice one right away, but decided on the piezo bridge which wasn't available locally. Enjoy!!!

    Hey Folks,

Thanks for your kind words. I love it when people share the joy!

I'm leaning towards a tortoise pickguard, not really fond of the white or black pearl. I do like abalone, though. Anyone have a black MM bass with either tort or abalone? Other suggestions?

  16. Very nice man!

    Black Ice pickguard no doubt!
