new cab question

    i have a GK 800rb and a Ampeg 610hlf

    but i want to downsize and get 2 aguilar gs112
    will this set up get as loud as the ampeg??

    well, two twelves have the surface area of a 6x10 cab. the cabinet sensitivity of the 610 is 98 db and the aggie is 102 db so the aggies should be about at least 3db (double the efficiency) as the 610. you might lose some punch (of the 10's), but your lows will be great!!! and you'll have 12" punch.

    Honestly, no. My 2 112's don't quite keep up with my 410hlf let alone a 610 or 810. Just want to make sure you don't do anything you'll regret. I also find the aggie 112's to be a little mid scopped and don't get my ideal tone even by boosting the mids. Personally, I wasn't happy with the Ampeg to Aguilar switch. I've heard their 410 is outstanding though and I'd bet their cabs sound better with their heads. Just my $0.02
