    Beautiful grain! Did you get the asymmetric wide neck option?

    I did not. But the woods did come out looking great. And I really like the satin finish. It feels and looks great.

    Sweet! I love my fretless Icon. Next time I'm in the market for a new bass, I'll probably get a fretted one as well. Enjoy!

    I'm a big fan of the satin finish too. The Icon is a very sweet bass. Enjoy!

    Man,Carvin sure makes some great stuff. For the money,it was the best purchase I've made on a new instrument thus far.

    Yep - got the bookmatched wood! I got jumbo stainless frets and LOVE THEM... Ultra smooth. They work great for all styles so far - fingers, slap, and tap.

    Which pickups did you go with?

    Standard soapbar. They sound great- the bass has A LOT of output.

    Those Icons are very different sounding from the new SB series which seem to be getting all the attention right now....

    one thing I really like is the sweep mid. Rotating it gives you almost a wah-wah effect, same as on an Alembic bass with that Q knob they have.

    That's what I thought too with the mid sweep. It does offer quite a range of tones though.
