Looks like the new Charvel basses are out now based on the original San Dimas body. Anyone played one yet?

I've been jonesing for a P/J bass for a long time, and that San Dimas looks fantastic. The ebony fretboard option is appealing too.

So, yeah, has anybody tried one?

  3. I'm not sure what model it was but I played a new Charvel at Wild West Guitars in Riverside Ca. and it was sweeeet. Flamed maple top ebony board apparently it was made in the Fender Custom Shop. They wanted $1,700 for it and it played every bit as well as anything else in that price range.

It's not a San Dimas, actually it's a Japanese made neck through (1987), but if the USA made versions play better than this one, then they are worth twice that amount.
