    I love this band !!!

"Beaneath the mask" has been my favourite album for a while !

pattitucci and Gambale's solis are awesome ! and Dave Weckl is...Dave Weckl :p

this one is going to be another jewel for sure...

...hope it's better than their last one!
The new Bass Player(April) implies that Mike Pope is the bassist.
Weckl is Weckl, though...have you heard the Akoustic Band disc with Colaiuta on cans? The difference is astounding; sounds like Chick & Patitucci are hangin' on for dear life!

Oh yes I know this album too...amazing team !

I also Love Steve gadd in the C.Corea's album "my spanish heart"..(stanley too of course ;) )

It seems, Mr Corea has a great taste for chosing drummers ! :p

Check out Gadd(with Brecker & Gomez) on Corea's Three Quartets cd.

Corea has great tastes in drummers because he also plays drums...most musicians with
    a Latin background have a "drum/percussion-first" mentality. ;)
I think Corea is playing drums on Wayne Shorter's Super Nova cd.

IMO the RTF band (Chick/Stanley/Al/Lenny) is still the best. :)

thx I've learnt a thing today !!

it 's true that as a latin jazz player you've got to get a great sense (knowledge too) of rythm to respect the traditionnal way of playing those kind of stuff...

funk inspirations of the chick 80's albums were great (even sometimes "kitsch" with the synth's choices but it makes a part of the pleasure to listen to)
