Wow! I picked up a Cirrus-5 locally yesterday, at a steal of a price. Walnut/bubinga combination, essentially never used.

Compared to the Ibanez SR-885 that I'd been using since around 1999, this bass has a lot more volume to it and very easy playability. For some reason the SR-885 caused my rig to sound like it was overdiving or pushing the speakers too hard, even though the audible output wasnt terribly powerful. I can get the majority of the tones I want out of it with a pretty light touch. I was practically developing CTS with the Ibanez! The sustain (neck through) is fluid sounding and about 2-3 times longer than my old SR. Perfect neck for my tastes.

I had no idea what I was missing out on!
  2. Congrats.....They are good basses.

    I should know:cool: !

Congratulations and welcome to the Cirrus club.

Anyway, you know the rules: no pics, no bass.

Congrats, I just got my cirrus a couple weeks ago.

A word about Peavey Customer Service: Awesome.

My cirrus came to me with some damage, part of which was a cracked bridge slide. One call to Peavey and they sent me a new one free of charge. Took about 5 minutes on the phone, no hassle at all.

    That's very reassuring to me.
