Hello all! I've finally finished ordering all the parts for my custom bass! Tell me what you think about these specs.

Singlecut in the style of an Emperor II
    6 string fretted neck thru
    36" scale length
Brass, gold Hipshot bridge with 18 mm spacing
Carvin graphtech nut 9 mm string spacing
Gold dome knobs for my two pots(volume and three way rotary(off/single/both))
    AERO K6jd Type 4 PHC
    Hipshot ultralite gold tuners(Y shaped)
Claro walnut top and back (3/8" each)(courtesy of Gallery Hardwoods)
Hoduran Mahogany body wings(1 1/2")(Gallery as well)
    5 piece, wenge/purpleheart/wenge/purpleheart/wenge, neck
    Ultrathin walnut headstock veneer.
    28 frets on C string(sloped)
    24 frets on B string(sloped)

    Whoo! It's gonna be awesome!!!

Antway, tell me what you think. My luthier should have it done by summer! Wood has to get acclimated to Texas.

    Thanks for reading!

Local luthier. Very good work. He's an amateur as far as number of instruments built, but he knows what he's doing. How do you think the tone will be?

The Aero dual coils(phc) will have that nice 70's funk tone with good punch.

  5. Sounds like it will be a very nice bass...The only thing im not really fond about is gold hardware. Im just not a fan of it.

    70's funk tone, ehhhhh........ :bassist:

    Awesome. Thanks for the responses.

What would you suggest for pickup placement?

My plan was basically to put it almost directly between the bridge and 24th fret.

    Thanks again!
