Black q-tuners, running into a Noll TCM3JB preamp (3 stacked knobs, Vol & balance with push pull for passive, Bass & treble, mid & passive tone). Damn, the wait was tough but I am just stoked.

I really hope they get that preamp sorted out for you ASAP! I would be on edge too if I were waiting for that bass!

Very cool ! You cant go wrong with a green bass  :bassist:
  9. That colour will certainly get you noticed, and definitely a few a gigs Paddy's day;) . Hotwire do some exquisite fretless basses and yours is no exception, congrats.

So what made you go with Hotwire over C. Larkin and some of the other UK luthiers? Did you have any experience with hotwire in the past or was it a gut feeling?

Love to year a few sound clips with the noll pre, nice.

My missus is fond of green, it was really just to lessen the freakout when she eventually finds out how much it costs.

As for choosing Hotwire, I just get along with the Jazz shape. I've been playing an ESP 400 Jazz since the early 90s and they just feel like home, so I checked out as many Jazz style manufacturers as I could and Hotwire just offered the best deal with total creative flexibility, I wanted something traditional looking but with modern electronics. The likes of Sadowskys, Lulls, etc are fantastic but in the end Hotwire just made sense in every way.
  11. Looks really good. Hotwire does a fretless "double bass" that looks just amazing.

Green's my favorite color. Nice components - I think that's going to sound great!

Thanks man, I like that it's very flexible, electronically, but it doesn't look like it, it still looks pretty traditional. There's bass, mid and treble cut and boost and a passive tone contol in there.

Thats a looker there! I've always liked the look of those ever since I saw Kai Eckhardt using one!
