It's amazing how songs that I've listened to for years suddenly take on new life now that I'm learning bass. Some stuff is great because it's very simple yet perfect ('My Old Blue Jeans' by ZZTop). Some of it makes my jaw hit the floor (just listened to 'Brother to Brother' by Gino Vanelli).

I knew all this stuff was there, of course. I just never gave it the credit it deserved.

Hey, I can even listen to 'classic rock' radio again!

...can kill the joy of a great song. I can enjoy tunes now that when first released were BEATEN TO DEATH by the stations that be.

Now when some of these "classic" tunes come up, they sound okay, if not "Hmmmmmm? That is kinda cool".
