Very nice reliced Jazz bass here from New England Custom Guitars, check out this thread for the history and details: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f126/new-england-custom-guitars-relicd-jazz-bass-fretspot-j-866754/ As stated in the prior for sale thread, this bass was commissioned by Donovan Bankhead (FretSpot.comFretSpot.com ยป Retailer and Fan for FBass & Fodera Bass Guitars) as a prototype for a possible line of basses for his store. This is a hand-crafted, custom bass; not just assembled from parts. Here are some specs: Alder body, hand-built in New England Custom Guitar's shop with no CNC machines, using their wood, with 60's Jazz pickup spacing Northern Maple neck, 70's style shape, with black blocks. Their wood, formed by their hands. Amalfitano hand-wound pickups to 60's specs (Amalfitano Pickups :: Our Pickups). These pickups sound beautiful! Cloth wiring and an orange drop cap. Nitro body paint with no sealer and nitro neck coat, and a very nice relic job. Bone nut Around 9.5 lbs and great balance Also, here is a video of this bass in action: . Sounds great! The only thing I've done to the bass is to add a Babicz bridge. The Babicz is a great bridge but it you want to stick with the vintage vibe, I think I still have the original as well and it would be easy to change it back. Assuming I can find the original, both bridges will be included in the sale. I no longer have the foam case mentioned in the thread above, but I will find a decent case or gig bag to ship it in. I'm not sure what this bass cost new, but based on the price of other guitars from New England Custom, I figure it was at least in the $1200 or so range. I have about $850 into it, IIRC. I'll let it go for $650 OBO plus shipping. Thanks for looking! Here are some pics:
Nice bass. Is that black or some sort of metallic black? Pictures are kind of grainy and it's hard to tell.
