As some many know, I took an offer I couldn't refuse for my Buckeye Custom BN5 recently- ..
go ahead, I'm giving you time to flame me...

ok, so I ordered another Custom that promises to go even a step further into Customland.. I will let you guys in on details later.
In the meanwhile, I took this BN5 in 3 tone burst with an enhanced grain that is just blowing my socks off!!

This bass is effortless to play and has me sounding much better than I really am. It is mesmerizing to look at ( I was never a big burst fan) and above all has an extra-extra helping of MOJO !!
The thing just growls and punches like nobody's business- another testament to George Furlanetto's insight into what a hi-end bass should be. Period.
Speaking straight from this bass players heart.
  2. Adrian........what a beautiful bass.

    I also like your website.......congrats!

Ok, I'll start. WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU??? That buckeye Fbass was gorgeous and you loved it! I think we need to send you, JRBrown, and Rickeryn to a monestary somewhere-you guys need to focus on the stuff you have :D Just kidding; I'm glad you like your "holdover" bass and I'm anxious to hear about what your next one will be.

I know I'm asking for it here but am I the only one whose noticed that the F Bass doesn't sit very well on ones body ? Whenever I strap mine on the bottom half of the body swings out...and no, it's not my gut:D

I think if the strap button were on the back of the upper horn instead of the tip this might be alleviated,

    BTW, nice bass always

Strange, when I was going to get that Caron fretless I ordered it to be done this way because I too thought this was a better way to have it done. I was never 100% happy with the way the bass sat on me either.

But that being said I like your bass Adrian, looks real cool. I'm very curious to see what you have been cooking up as well. ;)

Have you not gotten my last few emails?

Adrian, what the hell? I would havd loved to get my hands on your Buckeye F Bass, it would have matched my Roscoe LG 3005. I actually asked about it quite some time ago and you said "no way". Anyway, you know I'm just giving you a hard time about it.

I'm usaully not the biggest fan of burst finishes but that bass is outstanding! What a beauty it is to look at and you already know how I feel about the F Bass sound. Let me know when you are ready to sell that one, I may be intersted.

I would love to hear about the "new" one.

As far as the F Bass not sitting right, it is as perfect as it can get on me. These basses are the most comfortable I have ever played. The body sits perfect and the neck has the best contour in my opinion.

  13. Adrian - I can't believe you let the buckeye burl BN5 go!!!

It was the prettiest BN5 I had seen to date - they all sound great, though.

Now my new Maple Burl with Macassar board will be the king when it arrives in a few weeks!!

But I know, what you mean - every F I've played just nails the tone every time, no matter what tone you are looking for!

I hate you :bawl: just when I thought I cleared my GAS. I must resist. Very very nice. When you going to put up a sound clip or two? :)

Pant pant. Pitter patter of a heartbeat that's suddenly noticeable, and a gentle rush of blood to the cheeks. An increase in respiratory rhythm, and an involuntary contraction of private muscles. Like seeing a beautiful woman for the first time...

Adrian, that's one fine looking bass. I'm noticing it has the maple fingerboard and the reversed headstock. That's the ticket! I have a similar one in natural, and I completely 100% agree with you, George has absolutely nailed it this time. Whatever the current configuration is, it's darn near perfect. Awesome string balance, superb tone "flat" and you can dial up just about any sound you want with the preamp. I've already fallen in love with mine, and I recently found a Walter Woods amp that really brings out the F bass sound (you can hear the wood!). I hope you have many enjoyable adventures with your new F bass. Congratulations dude!

George F does the greatest bursts!

Basses like that make you wonder why anyone would want an oil finish instead of gloss.

    Ok Adrian,

Per our phone conversation, take good care of that bass and call me FIRST when you're done with it. ;)

  18. Yeah what he said! Would love to hear that beauty. The GAS is building!
