Pasadena, CA March 2010 Los Angeles Music Academy College of Music (http://www.lamusicacademy.edu) Bass Department Chair Jerry Watts announced Tim Landers and Mark Browne have joined the school's teaching faculty. On the heels of recent Master Classes by fellow bassists Andrew Gouche, Ric Fierrabraci, Rufus Philpot, Justin Huth and Janek Gwizdala, the school expanded its faculty while also facilitating new fifth and sixth quarter classes including fretless bass (taught by Landers). "We're fortunate to have the very talented and highly experienced players in Landers and Browne joining our faculty," says Watts. Landers, who hails from Boston is also a Grammy and Dove Award-nominated record producer and songwriter. Watts says, "He's recorded with Tori Amos, Beyonce, Vince Neil, Vinnie Colaiuta, Taylor Hawkins and countless others; his and Browne's experience will be a huge benefit to our bass students." Browne is teaching Studio Bass and has been keeping busy not only as a bassist, but producing and composing as well (Melissa Etheridge, Sheryl Crow, Gloria Estefan, Chaka Khan and Garth Brooks). Landers and Browne join existing resident bassists Andre Berry, Steve Billman, Philip Bynoe, Lynne Davis, Hussain Jiffry, David Levray and Doug Ross.
