yeah , i have seen his pup , and they do look very close .
she's brindle with just a touch of white under her chin and on her chest ...her paws also have some white on them .
i do know that i want to take her to a training class, but i'm not sure at what age they will accept puppies .
how do you like Rob Cary's classes ?

shirley and tammy were awesome, irma wasn't very good....

some people say they are expensive, but i think for the facility (nice and cold AC) the price is just right - after you're first class, they knock off $10 bucks for the next classes...

Jaco and I took PK II and we are finishing Basic this week...Boxers are considered a larger breed and the trainers that i have worked with treat all the dogs with respect (some trainers are a bit dogist - ie, dislike GSDs, Pits, Rotts, Dobers, etc. - i have not encountered that at RB)....

www.robcary.com - seems as though she's able to get into a class at 9 weeks....

a few things that i have learned - get your pup crate trained and house broken very quickly AND (major thing) have her socialized with everyone .... these three things have really been effective with my goofy

thanks for the .com ... very informative .
i'll definitely look into it .

yeah , she's pretty much already house broken .
she alerts us by walking stiff-legged , looking very anxious .
    so far no problems ...
no problem with socializing either .
we took her to visit my mother today , and she got along very nicely
with my mom's dog , who is about 9 years old now .
they both played aggressively , but she held her own...
i was impressed with her very evident self confidence .
  9. Whoa, weird. Dude, I used to have a boxer named ruby who looked just like yours. Cool though, I dig the "new baby" man.

Uhm, nice dog, but..... what happened to it's tail?! A result of human preference?

    No offense, just wondering :)

Boxers and some other breeds typically have their tails docked for several reasons. I think the thing with boxers is just that they have very active tails and they tend to get easily injured or broken. I've heard of people who have boxers with natural tails that have been broken several times and they ended up having to have the tails surgically docked as an adult. For some reason other breeds' tails are not as prone to breakage.

Either way in America you typically cannot find a boxer for sale who didn't already have his/her tail docked as a new puppy.
