New Fender Jazz bass pickups(noiseless)

Discussion in 'Pickups & Electronics [BG]' started by gimmeagig, Sep 23, 2005.

  1. I have heard about a new pickup that Fender makes for their Jazz basses. It is supposed to be super quiet and still sound like a single coil.Currently I'm using DiMarzio Ultra Jazz pickups but I'm curious about these new Fenders.Does anybody here know more about them?

I have these on my Victor Bailey Jazz and they sound great, kind of a Jazz on steroids with almost no noise.

However, there is a preamp and active tone controls on this bass so I can't tell you how they would sound with a traditional passive setup.

I wanted to put one in my P/J but they only sell them in sets.

Some on the bay now for $99.00

My FMT V with noiseless pickups is quiet. Almost as quiet as my 97 MIA Jazz Deluxe 5.

    Hmmm...

I have a 2005 am dlx jazz, with the newest pickups that
Bill Lawrence did. Fender says its the best sounding pickup
they have had in many years. My tech (very knowledgable)
aggress. For the unforseen events of the future, he put in
a preamp bypass switch. Even without the preamp these
pickups are very nice. Punchy and even. Good job Fender!
